It is not very easy to be one with one’s own self. We do so because it is a world of go and let go. We can’t move with ourselves. Most of us, most of the time, wear a mask of originality. And original we seldom are. We show what we don’t possess. We pretend what we actually are not. We behave the way we generally don’t desire. We want to be in the book of favourites of our boss. Why? Why does this situation arise? The answer to this problematic dilemma is not easy to trace. But a considerable effort can unfold the problem. The answer can be hidden in the human conscience which we rarely reveal. Our conscience is like an ocean and it is hard to fathom the ocean of life.
The speed of human life overpowers human body. We want to step forward at a cracking pace. Otherwise we may be left behind to ponder over our miserable lot. The terrible fear of lagging behind is the root cause of all problems. Our young generation is the worst affected lot. They want to be at the highest position as early as possible. The fear of not getting the job or the fear of losing the job makes them tense all the time. And they fail to be one with themselves.
A new aspirant when gets a challenging job faces many hurdles. His soul is not at ease. In the beginning, he is flooded with wild enthusiasm. He is ready to do anything to prove his point, to excel in the work he is given, to perform the duty he is assigned. But with the passage of time the same enthusiasm subsides. The moment he gets a sense of security in the field he works, his passion of performing a task vanishes in the air. His afterwards artificial zeal and zest occasionally pleases others. And he is no longer the person he was. His so-called acquired popularity fades away the moment others come to know about his real intentions. At this position, he tries to wear a mask of a good worker to achieve the lost popularity. He tries to be what he is not. He shows off. He pretends. And he loses his base. Such a person likes to work only for others. Everybody likes to be praised. He is not different. He desperately longs for a desired appreciation. He tries to be original but fails. A good and challenging job demands patience, but he loses this quality. If ever he possess so. He becomes a laughing stock for others.
He, then, lacks communication. He fails to present himself properly. And one feels an awkward silence in his behaviour. There is a constant war in his mind. He is caught in a mesh of jumbled thoughts. “To be or not to be” seems to be his question of life. His senses don’t go with him. Even common sense deserts him on the road of loneliness. This situation arises only when there is no uniformity between your thoughts and actions. So listen to your heart .Do what your conscience suggests to you. Unite your thought and action in a perfect whole. Make sense of what you do. Concentrate on your priorities. Be selective. Try to learn to say ‘no’ when you are unable to perform that given task. Make the situation clear. Be original. Be yourself…
